What you're feeling

Is shoulder & rotator cuff pain starting to shape what you'll do and what you skip?

Rotator cuff tendinopathy, impingement, labral irritation, AC joint, frozen shoulder, post-surgical recovery. The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body. When one part stops doing its job (mid-back mobility, scapular control, rotator cuff timing), the others compensate, overload, and get irritated. We restore each part in the right order.

What we usually hear
  • A.Pain reaching overhead, behind your back, or across your body
  • B.Night pain that wakes you on the affected side
  • C.Weakness lifting light objects you used to carry easily
  • D.Catching, pinching, or a 'painful arc' as you raise your arm
  • E.Stiffness that's getting worse, not better, over weeks
Stop guessing: start moving

Get a real plan for your shoulder & rotator cuff pain: book a PT Evaluation.

Sixty minutes with a licensed Physical Therapist. We'll see how you move, find what's driving it, write you a plan, and tell you the truth about what it'll take.

How the system works

From your first visit to moving better for good.

01

Find it.

A 60-minute first visit with a PT or coach: postural pictures, a full movement assessment, baseline numbers. We find where your body is compensating, not just the joint that hurts.

02

Restore the movement.

Manual therapy, targeted programming, progressive loading, aimed at the movement vulnerability driving the pain, not around it. Same practitioner every visit, and the plan adjusts as your movement changes.

03

Reinforce it.

When your tissue can take it, the same system carries into classes and small-group training, reinforcing better movement about 3x a week until it's just how you live. Members come for relief and stay for years because the system keeps progressing.

How we work

Our approach to shoulder & rotator cuff pain.

Manual therapy to free up restricted motion, then progressive loading of the rotator cuff and scapular stabilizers to reinforce it. For frozen shoulder we work the capsule patiently. There are no shortcuts, but consistency tends to shorten the arc. Post-op (rotator cuff repair, labral repair) we coordinate with your surgeon.

Sixty-eight years old. Came in for shoulder pain, stayed for the strength classes. The PT and the trainers are on the same team. Nobody else does that. My golf swing has never felt better.

I needed some adaptations to the exercises and Carly did great with that. I like how she checked in with me to see how I was doing. This was my first class in over 6 years. I have worked hard to get to this point. She gave me the confidence to know I can do this.

Careful feedback and attention to your individual needs makes these trainers the best I have ever worked with. Also a great community of people: chill, supportive, and kind.

Why ADAPT

Five reasons members come, and stay for a decade.

ADAPT physical therapist working with a client on a treatment table
01

One system, not a handoff.

Your PT and your coach aren't running separate playbooks. They read the same intake and apply the same movement principles, so restoring better movement in the clinic and reinforcing it in training is one continuous plan, not a baton pass.

02

Direct access in Oregon: no referral required.

Skip the doctor's-office stop-over. Walk in, get assessed, start moving better. PT is cash-pay: only motor-vehicle-accident (PIP) insurance is billed.

03

Same practitioner every visit.

Continuity that compounds. Each session builds on the last because the same eyes track how your movement is changing, and consistency is what actually changes the body.

04

Long-arc, not quick-fix.

A few weeks of relief is fine. Decades of capability is the goal. Getting older doesn't mean giving things up. Members come in for one problem and stay for years because the system keeps progressing with them.

05

We read movement, not just imaging.

Imaging describes the structure. The movement assessment shows where your body is compensating and loading the wrong tissue. We work with what your body actually does, then restore it doing the right job.

What to expect

Get your week back from shoulder & rotator cuff pain.

Tendinopathy and impingement often turn the corner within a handful of sessions. Frozen shoulder typically runs a four-to-nine-month arc. We'll be straight with you about it. Post-op recovery follows your surgical protocol, usually sixteen to twenty-four weeks, and varies by person.

Why the system works
  • Comprehensive assessment. Postural pictures, full movement screen, and a baseline you can measure progress against. Numbers, not vibes.
  • A plan built for your body.Shaped around your goals, your imaging, and what your body actually does, not what it's supposed to do.
  • Same practitioner, every visit. Continuity that compounds. The plan adjusts as your movement changes.
  • Reinforced until it sticks. As the pain quiets, the same system carries into classes and small-group training so the gains don't slide back.
