ADAPT Advanced area: multiple specialists working with neuro-recovery clients
Overview

Where Advanced (Neuro) fits in the system.

One of the few centers on the West Coast doing serious spinal cord injury recovery. ADAPT was built around the idea that a neurological diagnosis doesn't end physical development; the body can keep adapting to better inputs for years. It's the same system, run on a longer arc: restore what movement is available, reinforce it, and keep building. Long-arc training the medical system rarely provides, for people it told to stop.

The Game Planning Session is the door in for training: 60 minutes with Courtney, our Director of Training. We look at how you move, find what's getting in the way, and write you a plan that threads whichever parts of the system you need. You don't have to figure that out in advance. We figure it out together.

How the system shows up here.

ADAPT Advanced

Therapeutic training for neurological injury and disease.

1-on-1 sessions with our specialists, programmed around your goal, not your diagnosis. Walk to the mailbox. Pick up the grandkids. Get back on the bike. It's the same system we run everywhere, applied to the long arc the medical system rarely funds.

Advanced Evaluation

10-hour evaluation, spread over several weeks. Paid, and worth it.

An Advanced Training Specialist works through your goals, motivations, time, and lifestyle, then maps where your body is today across 10 hours of one-on-one assessment spread over a few weeks, finding what's possible to restore and reinforce. The plan we write at the end is yours, with or without ADAPT. This is a paid evaluation, not a free Game Planning Session.

ADAPT Advanced Scholarship Fund

Cost should not be the reason you don't start.

Financial assistance for new Advanced clients to begin their evaluation. Built for spinal cord injury and neurological diagnoses where insurance benefits ran out years ago.

Application-based
What we treat / who we serve

Common reasons people come in.

A

Spinal cord injury

One of the few centers on the West Coast doing serious SCI training. Wheelchair athletics included.

B

Stroke recovery

Long-arc training after the discharge from acute rehab, when most clinics stop and progress is supposed to plateau.

C

Parkinson's

Power, amplitude, and dual-task training. Programs built around the latest evidence for slowing progression.

D

MS

Heat-aware programming, fatigue management, and strength work that respects the diagnosis without giving in to it.

E

Brain injury recovery

TBI and concussion-protocol training. Vestibular, cognitive load, and reintegration to sport or work.

F

Goal-based, not condition-based

Walk to the mailbox. Pick up the grandkids. Get back on the bike. The diagnosis is data. The goal is yours.

Pain points we treat

Pain is the entry. Movement is the plan.

Each of these has its own page covering what it feels like, why it happens, how we restore it, and what to expect. The pain is the entry point; the plan is about finding what your body is compensating for and rebuilding it. Direct access in Oregon means you can start any of them without a referral.
