What you're feeling

Is traumatic brain injury (tbi) starting to shape what you'll do and what you skip?

TBI ranges from mild (concussion) to severe, and the damage can show up across several systems at once: the wiring between brain cells, balance, vision, and the automatic functions you never think about. The brain heals, but it heals through the right amount of use: too little and it deconditions, too much and symptoms flare. There's a window in between, and that's where we work.

What we usually hear
  • A.Persistent headaches, fatigue, or brain fog
  • B.Dizziness, vertigo, or balance disturbance
  • C.Light or sound sensitivity that limits daily activity
  • D.Cognitive issues: memory, attention, processing speed
  • E.Mood and sleep disruption
  • F.Symptoms that worsen with cognitive or physical exertion

How we work

Our approach to traumatic brain injury (tbi).

Symptom-limited exertion training, vestibular and ocular-motor (eye-tracking) work, cognitive-motor dual-task programming, sub-threshold cardiovascular conditioning, and a stepwise return to work or sport. We start where your body is today and progress as your symptoms allow, coordinating with your neurologist or treating physician throughout.

I had a stroke in 2022 and was told to manage expectations. Nobody at ADAPT manages expectations. They raise them. I'm walking, lifting, and back to gardening. The Advanced team is something special.

Coach Sheldon and the whole team have been excellent. Auto accident left me with whiplash and a wrecked low back. Six months in, I'm back to skiing. Honest, evidence-based, and they listen.

It is times like this that I truly wish there was a 6 star option. From the initial visit to the coaches checking in with my progress after classes, I could not be happier with my ADAPT experience. They have exceeded all my expectations.

Why ADAPT

Five reasons members come, and stay for a decade.

01

One system, not a handoff.

Your PT and your coach aren't running separate playbooks. They read the same intake and apply the same movement principles, so restoring better movement in the clinic and reinforcing it in training is one continuous plan, not a baton pass.

02

Direct access in Oregon: no referral required.

Skip the doctor's-office stop-over. Walk in, get assessed, start moving better. PT is cash-pay: only motor-vehicle-accident (PIP) insurance is billed.

03

Same practitioner every visit.

Continuity that compounds. Each session builds on the last because the same eyes track how your movement is changing, and consistency is what actually changes the body.

04

Long-arc, not quick-fix.

A few weeks of relief is fine. Decades of capability is the goal. Getting older doesn't mean giving things up. Members come in for one problem and stay for years because the system keeps progressing with them.

05

We read movement, not just imaging.

Imaging describes the structure. The movement assessment shows where your body is compensating and loading the wrong tissue. We work with what your body actually does, then restore it doing the right job.

What to expect

Get your week back from traumatic brain injury (tbi).

Mild TBIs typically resolve in weeks to months. Moderate and severe TBIs follow longer recovery arcs (months to years), with continued meaningful gains for far longer than most patients are told to expect.

Why the system works
  • Comprehensive assessment. Postural pictures, full movement screen, and a baseline you can measure progress against. Numbers, not vibes.
  • A plan built for your body.Shaped around your goals, your imaging, and what your body actually does, not what it's supposed to do.
  • Same practitioner, every visit. Continuity that compounds. The plan adjusts as your movement changes.
  • Reinforced until it sticks. As the pain quiets, the same system carries into classes and small-group training so the gains don't slide back.
