“I had a stroke in 2022 and was told to manage expectations. Nobody at ADAPT manages expectations. They raise them. I'm walking, lifting, and back to gardening. The Advanced team is something special.”
With MS, the old advice was 'don't.' The new answer is 'how.'
The old advice for MS was 'don't exert.' The new evidence is the opposite: graded, well-managed exercise improves function, fatigue, mood, and quality of life. We just have to be smarter about heat and load than a generic gym would be.
- Heat-aware programming with cooling protocols built in
- Built around where your body is that day: relapse, recovery, good days and bad
- Evidence-based: exercise is one of the strongest tools we have for MS
Is multiple sclerosis (ms) starting to shape what you'll do and what you skip?
MS is an autoimmune condition that strips the insulation off your nerves, which slows the signals traveling through the central nervous system. Symptoms vary by where that damage lands and which course you have (relapsing-remitting, secondary-progressive, primary-progressive). Heat raises your core temperature and slows those already-impaired signals further, which is why managing it is built into the program.
What we usually hear- A.Fatigue that's disproportionate to the activity
- B.Numbness, tingling, or weakness in limbs
- C.Balance and coordination challenges
- D.Heat sensitivity (Uhthoff's phenomenon)
- E.Spasticity, especially in the legs
- F.Vision changes, cognitive fog, or bladder symptoms

Specific multiple sclerosis (ms) conditions we work with.
Our approach to multiple sclerosis (ms).
Heat-aware programming with cooling protocols built in, graded resistance training, balance and gait work, fatigue-managed conditioning, and dual-task cognitive-motor work. We track effort and fatigue closely: numbers, not guesswork. The program flexes around relapse, recovery, and good-day / bad-day variability, because it's built around where your body is that day, not a fixed plan.
Programs you may use
Real members.
Real progress.
“I came in after a knee replacement convinced I'd never hike again. Two years later I'm in the mountains every weekend, and back in the gym three mornings a week. ADAPT didn't fix me. They taught me how to keep getting better.”
“I always feel so much better after going to ADAPT. Even after I've been away awhile, Jessica made me feel so welcome, seen, and missed. She cares for her clients. You will feel a difference after a class there. You are never too old to join.”

Five reasons members come, and stay for a decade.

One system, not a handoff.
Your PT and your coach aren't running separate playbooks. They read the same intake and apply the same movement principles, so restoring better movement in the clinic and reinforcing it in training is one continuous plan, not a baton pass.
Direct access in Oregon: no referral required.
Skip the doctor's-office stop-over. Walk in, get assessed, start moving better. PT is cash-pay: only motor-vehicle-accident (PIP) insurance is billed.
Same practitioner every visit.
Continuity that compounds. Each session builds on the last because the same eyes track how your movement is changing, and consistency is what actually changes the body.
Long-arc, not quick-fix.
A few weeks of relief is fine. Decades of capability is the goal. Getting older doesn't mean giving things up. Members come in for one problem and stay for years because the system keeps progressing with them.
We read movement, not just imaging.
Imaging describes the structure. The movement assessment shows where your body is compensating and loading the wrong tissue. We work with what your body actually does, then restore it doing the right job.
Get your week back from multiple sclerosis (ms).
Members training 1–2x weekly typically see improvements in fatigue, strength, and walking economy within 8–12 weeks. The training arc is open-ended. Consistency matters more than intensity over the long term.
- Comprehensive assessment. Postural pictures, full movement screen, and a baseline you can measure progress against. Numbers, not vibes.
- A plan built for your body.Shaped around your goals, your imaging, and what your body actually does, not what it's supposed to do.
- Same practitioner, every visit. Continuity that compounds. The plan adjusts as your movement changes.
- Reinforced until it sticks. As the pain quiets, the same system carries into classes and small-group training so the gains don't slide back.
