“I've been attending group fitness classes at ADAPT since 2019 and have experienced each class they offered. Since attending ADAPT, I have experienced less over-use injury and more comfort and confidence while hiking, backpacking and cycling. A big shout out to Carly, Caitlin, Jessica, Eric and Sheldon.”
Sprint again, and don't pull it twice.
Hamstring strains have one of the highest re-injury rates in sport, and it's rarely bad luck. When the hamstring can't do its job at sprint speed, the rest of your chain compensates, and the strain comes back. We find that vulnerability, restore the movement, and reinforce it until you can trust the leg.
- Eccentric loading at sprint speed. What the evidence actually backs, reinforced until it holds
- Numbers, not feel: objective testing before return: strength symmetry and sprint mechanics
- One system for athletes, built by clinicians who train themselves
Is hamstring strain starting to shape what you'll do and what you skip?
Most hamstring strains happen at the long-fiber junction during the late-swing phase of sprinting, when the muscle is lengthening under high speed. But the real story is upstream: weak hip extension, an underpowered posterior chain, and timing that's off, so the hamstring gets overloaded doing work the rest of the chain should share. Add a return-to-sport that skipped real sprint exposure and the grade-1 strain that 'felt better' in two weeks becomes the grade-2 next month.
What we usually hear- A.Sudden sharp pain in the back of the thigh during a sprint
- B.Tightness or pulling sensation when stretching the hamstring
- C.Weakness pushing off: running, jumping, accelerating
- D.Bruising 24–72 hours after the initial event
- E.A dull ache that returns the moment you try to run again
Get a real plan for your hamstring strain: free, no referral.
Sixty minutes with Courtney, our Director of Training. We'll see how you move, find what's driving it, write you a plan, and tell you the truth about what it'll take.
Specific hamstring strain conditions we work with.
Our approach to hamstring strain.
Phased rehab: protect, then restore range, then load eccentrically (Nordic hamstring curls, Romanian deadlifts), then progress to sprint mechanics and game-speed exposure. We test isokinetic strength symmetry and sprint-acceleration before clearing return-to-sport, not just 'feels good.'

“Sixty-eight years old. Came in for shoulder pain, stayed for the strength classes. The PT and the trainers are on the same team. Nobody else does that. My golf swing has never felt better.”
“Coach Sheldon and the whole team have been excellent. Auto accident left me with whiplash and a wrecked low back. Six months in, I'm back to skiing. Honest, evidence-based, and they listen.”

Five reasons members come, and stay for a decade.

One system, not a handoff.
Your PT and your coach aren't running separate playbooks. They read the same intake and apply the same movement principles, so restoring better movement in the clinic and reinforcing it in training is one continuous plan, not a baton pass.
Direct access in Oregon: no referral required.
Skip the doctor's-office stop-over. Walk in, get assessed, start moving better. PT is cash-pay: only motor-vehicle-accident (PIP) insurance is billed.
Same practitioner every visit.
Continuity that compounds. Each session builds on the last because the same eyes track how your movement is changing, and consistency is what actually changes the body.
Long-arc, not quick-fix.
A few weeks of relief is fine. Decades of capability is the goal. Getting older doesn't mean giving things up. Members come in for one problem and stay for years because the system keeps progressing with them.
We read movement, not just imaging.
Imaging describes the structure. The movement assessment shows where your body is compensating and loading the wrong tissue. We work with what your body actually does, then restore it doing the right job.
Get your week back from hamstring strain.
Grade-1 strains typically take 2–4 weeks to symptom-free; full return-to-sport runs 4–6 weeks done correctly. Grade-2: 6–12 weeks. Grade-3 / avulsion: surgical evaluation may be warranted.
- Comprehensive assessment. Postural pictures, full movement screen, and a baseline you can measure progress against. Numbers, not vibes.
- A plan built for your body.Shaped around your goals, your imaging, and what your body actually does, not what it's supposed to do.
- Same practitioner, every visit. Continuity that compounds. The plan adjusts as your movement changes.
- Reinforced until it sticks. As the pain quiets, the same system carries into classes and small-group training so the gains don't slide back.
