Exercise Routines for Sustaining Function

What is Muscular Health?

Muscles require a minimum amount of movement to sustain their function. When muscles are stationary for extended periods of time they will begin to atrophy and lose responsiveness. Most people do not realize how important muscular function is to every system of the HUMAN BODY. Muscles are responsible for the alignment of your skeletal system and in turn the pathway for your circulatory and nervous systems.

Our current lifestyles do not account for all of the dynamic movements our bodies are designed to do. If the majority of your activity during the day consists of sitting, then you are beginning to lose critical muscular function through lack of function. To counter the effect of a stationary lifestyle ADAPT has designed the Four Moves To Muscular Health. These exercises will help to maintain some of the minimum necessary movement for your muscles to maintain their intended function. These exercises should be done daily.

You sit everyday! You need to move everyday!

OUR BODIES ARE DESIGNED TO RUN!

Running is one of the fundamental movements our bodies are built for. If that is true then why is running so painful for most people? Your car is designed to drive, but if the alignment was off then you would be hurting your car if you drove it. The same is true for the human body. Your joints are shaped to move fluidly when they are in proper alignment. Your muscles are responsible for the alignment and movement of your joints. Making sure your muscles have the adequate strength, endurance and directional movement is critical to ensure that your body is using your joints correctly and allowing you to run the way nature intended. These Healthy Running Exercises will begin to build the tools necessary to begin running efficiently.
